Electricity meter installation involves installing or replacing a meter at your premises, creating or updating the NMI (National Metering Identifier) with AEMO, and configuring the meter type — accumulation or interval/smart — to match your tariff and network requirements. As an accredited metering coordinator, Sedgman manages this process end-to-end including AEMO registration and NMI creation for new premises, ensuring your meter is correctly registered with your retailer from day one.

Meter installation is required across Sydney's growth corridors — Marsden Park, Box Hill, and Oran Park — for new connections, when existing meters fail or are found non-compliant, for smart meter upgrades enabling time-of-use tariffs, and for solar systems requiring bi-directional measurement.
